Heatstroke is a scary thing. Heatstroke from being left in a vehicle-well, that is preventable. BUT, accidents happen....We all make mistakes....We are in fact, only human.
Baby OK was created to help parents have another safety measure when it comes to their children and car safety. As a parent, you may not be the one that makes the mistake. It could be a babysitter, a grandparent or maybe even your spouse. The point is, it could happen to any of us.
By using Baby OK, there is no reason that a child should have to go through heatstroke. Baby OK is a reminder, an accountability partner and a conscious choice that we can all make to ensure that we do not forget a child in the car.
Did you know that heatstroke occurs when body temperature exceeds 104 degrees F?
That a child's body temperature warms at a rate 3 to 5 times faster than an adult’s?
That after 2 to 4 hours temp in car rises 50-55 deg??
That half of the deaths are children under 2?
Shocking, I know. Some other effects of heatstroke include disorientation, seizure, dizziness, confusion. Can you imagine for a second that a child would go through this totally preventable mistake?
Here is a shocking statistic: on average, there are 37 child fatalities annually {in the US} from being left in a hot vehicle. To date in 2016, there have been 39 deaths. Sure out of 350,000,000 these numbers don not seem that large, however, one child experiencing this is one too many.
Baby OK hopes to be available in iTunes by Spring 2017, but we need your help. From a moms "ah ha" moment in the shower, Baby OK is now a prototype in development. We are relying on community support and crowdfunding to get Phase I of Baby OK on the market- a FREE app for parents, grandparents and caregivers from all walks of life.
Every child's life matters. Every parent deserves the peace of mind that their Baby is OK.
Please support our crowdfunding campaign with Classy.org and be the change.
