When you’re constantly on the go, finding time to cook meals on a daily basis can be tricky. Time is at a premium, especially during the week - so, finding ways to get your dinner on the table quickly can save you tons of time. Brittany from The Nut Butter Hub shares 5 awesome tips to make weekday meals healthy AND fast!!

Getting dinner on the table fast can sometimes mean your meals aren’t as healthy as you might like them to be. If you could combine healthy food and speedy cooking times, that would be perfect, wouldn’t it? We've got a solution!
Take a look at these 5 ways to make your weekday meals healthy and fast.
Batch Cooking
Batch cooking is a great way to make your meals healthy, as well as speedy. Whenever you have a block of time free, be it 30 minutes or a couple of hours {like on grocery day}, take some time to cook up a batch of meals, which you can shove in the freezer, then pop in the microwave or oven when it is dinner time.
This is a great way of keeping your meals healthy, as you have ultimate control over what goes in those containers and having something in the freezer means less chance of naughty snacks on the way home!
Slow Cooking
If you have a slow cooker at home, it’s time to get it out of the cupboard and dust it off! The slow cooker is underrated, particularly if you are a busy bee and you need a fast meal. You can put everything in the pot and have it ready for when you get in – with hardly any effort at all! And, if you have any leftovers; pop it in a container and freeze it- voila! a meal ready for another day.
DIY Pizza
Homemade pizza sounds like a complicated and unhealthy meal, it doesn't have it be at all! All you need is some wraps, a tomato based sauce, cheese and veggies. To really jazz this one up we like to smoke some veggies in our natural gas smoker at the start of the week. This really helps add some flavour and helps ensure you don’t have to load up on cheese or fatty meats to add taste. Try using eggplant or mushroom as they hold a lot of flavour and texture.
You can also get the kids to make their own pizzas! Just fill up a few bowls with your prepped ingredients and get them to pick and choose what they would like on it. You might find that they are more inclined to eat what they make themselves!
Speedy Pasta
We all know pasta cooks quickly, but sometimes the thought of making an elaborate sauce can tip you over the edge after a long day, all that slicing and dicing and reducing isn’t appealing after a hard day at the office. But fear not! There are plenty of quick pasta dishes you can create in a matter of minutes, and there are some great healthy options as well.
There is no need to sacrifice your health when it comes to a quick meal, so if you love pasta, want to keep it healthy and hate spending a ton of time on cooking, then use the "throw it it one pot method"!
Wraps
Wraps are super tasty and super healthy as well (if you make them with your health in mind). You can pack everything into a wrap and have a quick, easy, healthy and mess free meal!
Have a look at some wrap recipes like these to get some inspiration. Make sure you pack them full of veggies and you will be knocking healthy and fast meals out of the park in no time.
Healthy doesn’t have to be hard, and it doesn’t have to take a long time either. With a little bit of prep and planning, you can eat clean all week long!
