Top 6 Cancer Fighting Foods

Updated: Feb 22, 2020

Did you know that there are foods that fight cancer? According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, there are 6 TOP Cancer-Fighting Foods that you should incorporate into your diet on a regular basis. The TOP Cancer-Fighting Foods are also known as G-BOMBS. These 6 foods happen to be on my fave list as a plant-based momma!! ⠀⠀⠀

“G-BOMBS are the foods with the most scientific evidence to prevent cancer. It stands for Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, and Seeds. Eat them almost every day.”—Dr. Joel Fuhrman⠀⠀

G–BOMBS are:

  1. Greens⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  2. Beans⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  3. Onions⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  4. Mushrooms⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  5. Berries⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  6. Seeds⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

To get the full understand of G-BOMBS, you can read Dr. Fuhrman's blog. It goes in depth on each of the G-BOMBS and what the specific health benefits are.

These foods also promote health and longevity. I am sure that I am not just speaking for myself when I say we all could use these in our lives.⠀

Since learning about G-BOMBS I have made it a point to add them into our daily nutrition. I am not perfect and we definitely do not get each one everyday, but I try to get several of them.

These foods are also power houses for antioxidants which reduce free radicals in the body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Remember, nutritional excellence can do what drugs can’t do.

According to BlueZones.com, drugs lower risk maybe 10-15%, while superior nutrition has the potential to lower risk 100 times that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

That deserves a repeat, superior nutrition has the potential to lower risk 100 times. ⠀⠀

If you are really interested in learning more about food and cancer, take a look at EWG's Links Between Foods and Cancer. It is fascinating stuff.

For a deeper dive into your own nutrition you can use the EWG's Cancer Calculator: Am I eating the right foods? It will tell you where your diet is lacking. You can track your veggie intake with a cool, free tool too.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on G-BOMBS, the calculator and your take on the link between food and cancer.
